It is something we should all keep an eye on, thank you austhome for bumping this topic

I get paypal ones every so often, funny thing is though before I started getting them I really DID have to verify my details because of attempted logins etc. But yes the email had my FULL NAME etc in it. and NO LINKS to the website. Its a real pain too I had to send copies of my drivers licence and stuff to get it working again. But yeah, because I had previously seen a legit paypal 'verification' email I knew how to spot the fake ones lol

To vertigo: I thank you for your message. I recieved an email which I have copied following. I checked the address re the "i" pre the supposed paypal name. And yes there was that little i. Also when I looked real hard, the name was NOT EVEN paypal , but it was PAGPAL (yes, look real hard because the the lower part of the letter g is hidden in the line under the email address name services@ipagpal.co.au; and if you are in a stressed out state because of possible fraudelent activity of which you have been warned, and the need to act FAST, you might miss the finer details. Anyway thanks to you vertigo, I checked the address, (yep, there was the i before the pagpal(note pagpal, not even paypal) and realized I had been GOT! The real Paypal has promised to refund the money that was fraudently got. (So I do thank Paypal for that) The email reads thus: Information Regarding Your Account: Dear PayPal Member:

Yes Lovely Country Lady you have to be really carefil with what emails you open and the sites they may take you too.
There are sadly some very nasty, ratbags out in the cyber world, and in the normal world, but cyber theft is so frightening and so hidden
All the best and let's hope you manage to win some really wonderful prizes from the competitions you enter
All the best and a huge welcome to compingforfun
